Scientists believe they’ve found the real physical cause of depression

The latest discovery about the possible link between depression and inflammation has once again taken a chomp out of my confidence in the medical profession. In my personal life I have known a number of people who suffer from depression and have tried the whole gamut of anti-depressants without ever experiencing any noteworthy relief. We have been told that depression is caused by a chemical imbalance in the brain and antidepressants work by balancing chemicals like serotonin called neurotransmitters that affect mood and emotions. But as we all know, it’s notoriously difficult to find antidepressants that works. No wonder! Depression is not a mental illness; it’s a physical illness. And according to some recent papers it can be alleviated by treating inflammation.

It’s October 3rd again and mine and my family’s hearts are breaking again. On this day, my precious, beloved and very loving brother was born in 1964. He would have been 54 years old if bipolar disorder hadn’t stolen him from us when he was only 26 years old.

I can’t describe how sweet he was, how funny, how loving, how beloved. I can’t tell you how much I wish somehow, anyhow, he could have been saved.

Here’s a hotline anyone can use if they are feeling suicidal. Please get help.

This is quite amazing! And yet more evidence that the immune system is involved in mental illness. So much evidence in this article, like when a cancer patient received a bone marrow transplant from a brother who had schizophrenia, he became schizophrenic as well!
