Oh this is good! Two of my favorite things, digs and CRISPR!

Using CRISPR, they boosted the level of dystrophin to 92% of normal. Dystrophin is the molecule that is dysfunctional in muscular dystrophy, so this is amazing! Hopefully trials in people soon!

Researcher reveals 4 happiness rituals – Business Insider

Here’s what brain research says will make you happy:

Ask “What am I grateful for?” No answers? Doesn’t matter. Just searching helps.
Label those negative emotions. Give it a name and your brain isn’t so bothered by it.
Decide. Go for “good enough” instead of ‘best decision ever made on Earth.”
Hugs, hugs, hugs. Don’t text — touch.

Doctors Have Found a Big Problem With Using Ketamine to Treat Depression

While ketamine has been doing wonders as an antidepressant, researchers have discovered something concerning about the way it may actually be working on patients’ brains.
— Read on www.sciencealert.com/doctors-find-opioid-problem-with-using-ketamine-for-depression

Ketamine, although it works like a charm on depression, may be using the opioid pathway in your brain thereby might lead to an increase in opioid addiction, which is already epidemic in proportions.

Note to self, don’t ask psychiatrist for ketamine as treatment for depression. Depression isn’t one bit fun but opioid addiction, whoa! No thank you!

And this is the trouble with touting a treatment before all the studies have been done. Just as with Lamictal being given to Bipolar 1 patients who were pushed into a full blown manic phase (like me) which destroyed dome people’s lives, if ketamine drives opioid addiction, how destructive will that be?!

Our 30th wedding anniversary!!

We went to Bermuda for our 30th wedding anniversary!!! It was gorgeous and stunning and beautiful, everything you’ve ever heard about it, it’s true! And the water, oh my gosh, I’ve never seen such beautiful turquoise water before! And the sand really was pink, naturally mixed with bits of coral.

Just an old married couple, enjoying each other and our beautiful surroundings!
